🤗Backstage at VICTORIA.

🤩Introducing Mr. Kelly our new Primary teacher, please help us welcome him!

✅Bio: I was born in Inverness, Scotland but have lived most of my life in the northeast of England. I come from a fairly small but very close family.😊

👨‍🎓Qualifications: I graduated from Birmingham University with an MSc in Applied Meteorology and Climatology in 2000. I completed my teacher training at Sunderland University in 2012.

✈Experience and travels: For 9 years, I worked as a meteorologist, firstly with the Press Association in London, then with the UK Met Office in Aberdeen. I spent a lot of my time working alongside the RAF, providing weather forecasts for flight operations. During this time, I spent several years living on Ascension Island, St Helena and the Falkland Islands. I was also very fortunate to complete two secondments to the British Antarctic Survey, working at their Rothera base on the Antarctic Peninsula. Before teaching infants and juniors in the UK, I qualified in TEFL and taught English to adults in Heredia, Costa Rica.

⛰Hobbies: I love mountain walking, especially in the UK Lake District. I also love music and going to concerts.🎼 I sing in a choir which covers everything from pop to folk songs and in my spare time, I am learning to play both guitar and piano with mixed success! I enjoy baking, probably because I have a weakness for cakes and biscuits!🥧 Other hobbies include gardening and reading, especially fantasy fiction and true stories about the great explorers. Finally, I have a strong interest in meteorology and have to say I'm a bit of a weather nerd.🤓
I'm a storyteller and always on the lookout for more tales to add to my collection.

🍲My favourite food would have to be the classic British Sunday Dinner. My best holiday was storm chasing in the US. I'm afraid I'm not very sporty but I do enjoy playing badminton or tennis.🎾

✅To be honest, I know very little about Mexico (apart from the climate) and feel like I'm jumping into the unknown! But I'm very excited about living in Tequis and being immersed in a different culture. I'm also really looking forward to meeting everyone at VICTORIA and becoming a part of the school community.😍
